The loose-knit computer-hacking group Anonymous posted a string of emails this week purporting to show Cupertino, Calif.'s Symantec engaged in negotiations with the group to avoid disclosure of the code. Symantec spokesman Cris Paden said the email exchange took place between Anonymous and law enforcement agents, not the company.

Now, I'm not defending any activity that deprives someone else the reward for their work but I've been reading into this one and I don't think LulzSec or AnonOps were behind this. It doesn't match the M-O. I could be wrong though.
No, it wasn't Anonymous or LulzSec:
They've had plenty of time to fix some of the holes, but unless they've rewritten it from the ground up there are still holes that can be exploited. Tech News Today mentioned it in podcast #432 and they mentioned that PC Anywhere code was also grabbed and Symantec is apparently recommending it not be used at the moment. That's worrisome if the company fesses up that is vulnerable, and that source code is apparently available on Pirate Bay. I don't know that Norton is anyone's best bet for protection right now (disclaimer: never been a fan of it in the first place), looks like that computer condom might have some holes in it.
Like we are supposed to believe that gNOp and murdoch hocum. ROTFFL hysterically! Go right on ahead and believe it you gNOp fools and tools.
Other than the anonymous link, all hackers are apparently all anonymous to some now, the story is widely reported and the company admits the hack. Much after the fact.

Don't worry about it. The comment above is typical of a drive by. They come, they read the title of the article then they post something irrelevant and move on. If petridishofideas would like to qualify his/her statement with something other than babble I openly welcome it.
